Termites Pest Control

Thin, pencil-width mud tunnels running along walls, foundations, or pillars are built by subterranean termites to travel safely between soil and wood. Spotting mud tubes is one of the clearest signs of active infestation — professional treatment should follow immediately.

Termites eat wood from the inside out, leaving a thin outer layer intact. Tapping on skirting boards, door frames, or furniture that sounds hollow or papery often means extensive internal damage — a full inspection is needed to assess the extent.

Swarms of winged termites (alates) leave their colony to start new ones, shedding their wings once they find a mate and a new nesting site. Piles of discarded wings on windowsills or floors signal a nearby, established colony.

Floors that feel soft, sag, or buckle underfoot may indicate termites have compromised the wooden subfloor or supporting beams. Left untreated, this structural weakening can worsen quickly and become a safety hazard.

Small, wood-colored, pellet-like droppings found near skirting boards, window frames, or furniture are a sign of drywood termite activity. Frass buildup usually points to an active nest very close to where it's found.

Bubbling paint or peeling wallpaper that resembles water damage can actually be caused by termites feeding just beneath the surface, creating moisture and pressure. A closer inspection distinguishes termite damage from ordinary humidity issues.

Doors and windows that suddenly become difficult to open or close can indicate termites have warped the wood frame by tunneling through it and introducing moisture. This is often overlooked as ordinary humidity swelling.

Soldier termites bang their heads against wood to signal danger to the colony, producing faint clicking or rustling sounds inside walls, especially in quiet rooms at night. Hearing this activity is a strong indicator that treatment is needed right away.
